We love presenting people with the opportunity to explore activities that are completely new to them and find out about skills they never knew they had.
With our creative session we like there to be a theme that educates to a wider issue. Like our giant whale that has trash in it’s stomach. Discussions about pollution led to the project and the individuals not only learned new artistic skills but also became aware of the issues surround wildlife and the oceans.
This enables the people we support to gain independence and confidence. We run a wide range of activities and sessions, information about these can be found HERE.
We treat all things holistically so that skills acquired in one session can be applied to another and also the wider life of the individual.
How do we decide on what projects we do? The ideas for most projects arise out of discussions with the group. The group will research the aspects of the session they would like to have a go at. The Creative Worker then puts the session together ready to be delivered to the group. Each session has identified skills development incorporated into them and each skill is worked on until the individual can achieve their goals with the least amount of input from the Creative Worker.
