Explorers
What is an Explorer group? Do we go to the Arctic? No. But our groups explore as much of the country as you can reach with a bus pass. Whether it's historic towns and museums, owl centres, and more. It’s about getting out there, having a walk and exploring, and then a spot of lunch.
Our Explorer group isn’t just about getting out there and having fun; we also use it as a platform to develop community skills. Travel training, what to do in an emergency, money recognition, interpersonal skills, and so much more.
Other Community Based Activities We Do
Bowling
There is nothing quite like getting out on the lanes and rolling a dream game. We offer a few bowling sessions through the week and we use the bowling alley in Newport Town Centre.
Golf
We access the driving range at one of Newport’s excellent golf courses.
Lunch Out and Cafe Visits
Having lunch out with friends is one of the things that people take for granted.
Walking
We have several walking groups that we offer. They range from gentle strolls in the park to mountain climbs.
